Kathmandu: Yango has been providing free cargo transportation to help deliver relief materials to communities affected by the Bhotekoshi floods.
The company has been working with local organisations to transport relief supplies to flood-affected areas of Rasuwa, Dhading and Nuwakot. According to Yango, the effort has so far helped deliver aid to more than 1,000 people.
Yango started providing transportation support in the early stages of the relief response and has continued the service as relief work progresses.
Through its Yango Delivery Cargo service, the company has been helping organisations including Hami Nepal, Astitwa Nepal and Crisis Connect Nepal transport relief materials. The supplies have been moved within Kathmandu as well as from collection points in the capital to communities outside the Kathmandu Valley.
The service has provided logistical support to organisations working to get essential supplies to people affected by the flooding.
Driver-partners take part in blood donation
Yango's driver-partners have also taken part in relief-related activities.
On September 2, Easy Ride Nepal, a Yango fleet partner, organised an open blood donation programme in its local community. Yango Country Manager Santosh Pandey and other company representatives joined the programme.
Drivers, fleet partners, Yango representatives and residents from nearby neighbourhoods took part in the blood donation drive.
Yango said it will continue providing transportation support to organisations involved in relief work while assistance to flood-affected communities continues.
