Kathmandu, Nepal: Unilever Nepal Limited has contributed Rs 5 crore to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund for relief work in areas affected by the recent floods.

The company said the money would support relief and rehabilitation efforts in flood-hit communities.

Unilever Nepal has also provided nearly 26 tonnes of hygiene products worth about Rs 1 crore to people affected by the floods, according to the company.

The products are meant to help families maintain hygiene and sanitation, particularly in places where flooding has affected access to clean water and caused damage to homes and surroundings.

The materials include products from Unilever brands such as Lifebuoy, Lux, Sunsilk, Closeup, Vim and Rin.

Unilever Nepal Managing Director Amlan Mukherjee said the company wanted to help families affected by the floods as they work to return to normal life.

“Nepal has always shown remarkable resilience in the face of adversity. During challenging times like these, it is important for all of us to come together and support those most affected,” Mukherjee said.

The company said the assistance is part of its community support activities related to health and hygiene.

Government agencies, local authorities and other organizations are continuing relief and rehabilitation work in flood-affected areas.
