London: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) UK has announced its cricket team for the upcoming NRNA T10 Cricket Cup, which will be held in Portugal on September 14, 15 and 16.
Madhukar Thapa will captain the NRNA UK team in the tournament. The team is preparing to represent the UK chapter at the three-day cricket competition and will take on other NRNA teams participating in the event.
NRNA UK President Rajendra Pudasaini has wished the captain and all the players success in the tournament. The association has also asked its members and supporters to cheer for the team and support the players during the matches.
Bishnu Kharel has been named the team manager, while Pramod Bhandari will serve as the team administrator.
The 12-member NRNA UK squad includes captain Madhukar Thapa, Laxman Gurung, Bidhan Giri, Dipendra Basnet, Gam Gurung, Roushan Singh, Ahmad Shafiq, Mohammad Chowdhury, Musa Nadeem Ahmed, James Gurung, Mann Thapa and Sabin Rana.
Roushan Singh will also take responsibility as the wicketkeeper. Ahmad Shafiq, Mohammad Chowdhury and Musa Nadeem Ahmed are also part of the squad.
The NRNA T10 Cricket Cup will bring together cricket teams representing different NRNA chapters. The tournament is expected to provide an opportunity for Nepali communities abroad to come together through cricket and strengthen ties among players and supporters.
