Kathmandu: More than 40 tons of relief materials provided by the U.S.-based humanitarian organization Samaritan’s Purse have arrived in Kathmandu for families affected by the floods.
The shipment includes water filters, tarpaulins, blankets, hygiene kits and solar lights. The supplies are expected to reach around 2,600 families in flood-affected areas through local organizations involved in relief work.
The U.S. Embassy in Nepal said it is coordinating with the Government of Nepal and other organizations involved in the response to determine where the supplies are needed and help deliver them to affected communities.
The relief materials are expected to be distributed in areas where families have been affected by flooding and are in need of basic household and hygiene supplies.
