Kathmandu, Nepal, May 10, 2021: Prime Minister KP Oli has failed to secure vote of confidence from the parliament.

During a vote of trust motion held in parliament on Monday, Prime Minister Oli secured just 93 votes. He requires 136 votes to continue as the Prime Minister. 

Likewise, total of 124 votes were cast against the vote of confidence motion while 15 lawmakers had remained neutral during Monday’s voting. 

Different 35 lawmakers, mostly the lawmakers aligned in the dissident faction of the ruling UML led by Madhav Kumar Nepal were absent in the meeting.
