KATHMANDU, Nepal, October 30, 2025—The Ambassador of Germany to Nepal, Udo Volz, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sushila Karki today at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.
 
The meeting, which was the first interaction between the two leaders since Prime Minister Karki assumed office, focused on bilateral interests and strengthening the friendship between Nepal and Germany.
 
Ambassador Volz conveyed his best wishes for the Prime Minister’s tenure and expressed Germany’s readiness to provide support in line with Nepal’s priorities.
 
Responding to the goodwill expressed by Ambassador Volz, Prime Minister Karki thanked him. She then made a significant request, urging the Ambassador to ensure that the German company responsible for Nepal’s passport printing takes necessary advance measures to ensure timely passport issuance.
 
Prime Minister Karki emphasized the importance of swift service delivery to Nepali citizens and expressed confidence in receiving support from the German side on this matter.
 
In response, Ambassador Volz assured the Prime Minister that he would coordinate with the company to facilitate the necessary steps.
 
Present at the meeting were Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister Ajaybhadra Khanal, Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Amrit Bahadur Rai, and other high-ranking officials.
