Kathmandu, Nepal: Voting process for the new leadership of the Nepal Students Union (NSU) has begun from 8:00 am on Wednesday at the Nepali Congress (NC) Central Office, Sanepa.
 
About 500 candidates have filed their candidacies for the different posts of the NSU, the student wing of the Nepali Congress.  
 
Seven candidates are vying in the post of president. Manojmani Acharya, Nain Singh Mahar, Shubharam Basnet, Ananda Raj Tripathi, Laxman Acharya, Nagendra Singh Thakuri and Bachan Karki are vying in the post of president. Padam Raj Panta had withdrawn his nomination. 
 
As no candidates were there, Parmeshwor Saha has unanimously been elected the assistant- general secretary from the Madhesi quota.
