KATHMANDU, May 1: Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government is committed to holding local-level elections at any cost.
Welcoming leaders and cadres into his party at a function held at his private residence in Lazimpat today, he said the filing of nominations for the election tomorrow will begin the process of the first phase of elections. "There is no relation between the impeachment motion and the elections," he said.
Stating that the registration of the impeachment motion has created a new wave in politics, the Prime Minister said the motion will follow its due parliamentary process, while not having any impact on the elections. The constitution amendment process shall also move ahead accordingly.
Prime Minister Dahal on the occasion welcomed 40 persons under the leadership of NC Sindhupalchowk district committee member Budda Raj Basnet and 20 persons led by UML district member Durga Nepal and central members of Federal Socialist Party and Tamsaling Nepal National Party into his party. RSS
