Kathmandu, Nepal: The Special Court (SC) has on Sunday extended the remand of Director General (DG) of Inland Revenue Department (IRD) Chuda Mani Sharma by seven days.
The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had arrested DG Sharma on Friday afternoon from his office after multiple complaints were lodged against him.
He was presented before the SC by the CIAA maintaining that his remand is the custody was necessary for the further investigation. With the order, the CIAA will get seven more days for the investigation.
The CIAA had arrested Sharma on the charge of misappropriation of billions of rupees misusing the authority.
