KATHMANDU, NEPAL, October 30, 2025: Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, paid a courtesy call on Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Jagadish Kharel, on Wednesday.
According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the two officials discussed a range of issues related to bilateral cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
During the meeting, Minister Kharel, who also serves as the government’s spokesperson, informed the Ambassador about Nepal's political priorities in the changing context.
The government has priorities holding the general election scheduled for March 5, 2026, in a free and fair manner, controlling corruption and promoting good governance, minister Kharel said.
Congratulating Minister Kharel on his recent appointment to the post, Indian Ambassador Srivastava affirmed India's commitment to Nepal's developmental goals.
The Ambassador stated that the Government of India is willing to provide financial and technical assistance to Nepal for the country’s economic transformation and attaining prosperity, assuring support tailored to Nepal’s specific needs.
