Kathmandu, Nepal: The government has postponed again the date to hold the second phase of local level elections.
 
A cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning decided to hold the local level elections on June 28. Earlier, the government had decided to hold the elections on June 23.
 
The government has made the decision in the mean time when the Election Commission (EC) has been preparing to hold the second phase of local level elections on June 14.
 
Though the government has made the decision to postpone the elections, the EC is not informed yet officially.
 
The EC has said that its officials are compelled to make necessary preparations to hold the elections in the stipulated time frame.  
 
We are not informed officially about the government decision to postpone the elections but intensifying our preparations, an official at the EC said preferring anonymity.
