Bharatpur, Nepal: Consensual candidate of the Nepali Congress and CPN Maoist Centre Purna Bahadur Gurung has been elected as chairperson of Bharatpur Metropolitan City ward-19.
The entire plane was from the Nepali Congress.
According to the Election Commission Gurung garnered 1,478 votes out of 2870 votes cast in the re-election held on Friday.
With the vote count mayoral candidate from the CPN UML Devi Gyawali has led with 41,946 votes while his rival consensual candidate Renu Dahal from CPN Maoist Centre has garnered 41,725 votes.
