Kathmandu, Nepal: The legislative parliament has on Wednesday endorsed the bill related to the political parties amid a protest from the fringe parties.
With the endorsement of the bill any political party will be recognized as a national party only it secure at least one seat under first-past-the-post (FPTP) and three percent proportional vote.
The bill was endorsed amid the protest from the fringe parties. Lawmakers of many fringe parties boycotted the House meeting protesting the threshold provision.
Earlier, State Affairs Committee under the legislative parliament had passed the bill with majority.
